(ex Family Day)
“I had long had in mind, and had set myself the goal of, creating a special boat with a strong personality, capable of stirring emotions in anyone who saw her. I believe I have succeeded. Her 65 metres in length, her speed of 18 knots in absolute comfort, her refined interiors, her state-of-the-art navigation and communication equipment and the application of the most advanced technologies to achieve the highest standard of performance make Family Day a true jewel of her kind.” With these words Fulvio Codecasa, patron of the Viareggio shipyard Codecasa, presents the launch of the brand-new M/Y FAMILY DAY, CODECASA 65, Hull F 71. This new jewel of the sea offers decidedly modern and graceful lines. In particular, the yacht has a considerably longer and more raked stern than previous Codecasa yachts, which gives her a sportier yet very elegant look. Because of this exterior feature, which sets her apart from other Codecasa yachts, she can be described as a yacht that breaks away from the shipyard’s traditional patterns. On board, the spaces are large and numerous both outside and inside. One of these spaces is dedicated to the relaxation area which, with sofas, coffee tables, armchairs and sunloungers, surrounds the large hot-tub pool forward on the Wheelhouse Deck. Another large space is the sunbathing and barbecue area on the Sun Deck. Inside, the owner’s suite is especially spacious and includes a study with an opening bulwark that can be transformed when needed into a splendid terrace overlooking the sea. More space is also given to the six Guest Cabins, the saloons and all the relaxation areas on board. Throughout, the joinery, all with a satin finish, features dark rosewood for the floors, while the walls are clad in light rosewood and fabric. The sofas, headboards and bed frames are all in light leather. The interior decorative lines, designed by architects Franco and Anna Maria Dellarole together with the Owner, are simple, linear and extremely modern. The fabrics also follow the decorative principles of simplicity. All the bathrooms are made of rosewood and light marble. The ceilings are in lacquered wood. One of the main features of this vessel is the dining area, conceived on the Wheelhouse Deck, which occupies the whole area usually dedicated to the saloon. The round table in the centre can seat up to 16 people if needed. A lift connects the five decks, from the Top Tank Deck to the Sun Deck. Built to Lloyd’s Register and MCA rules, the boat is powered by Caterpillar engines and fitted with the best electronic navigation and communication equipment. Designed for ocean cruising and excellent seakeeping, she is also equipped with Quantum “zero speed” stabilisers at anchor. She was delivered to her Owner in June 2010
